Military Action in the Middle East

Started by: Tommy Two Stroke (15435)

Instead of firing million pound missiles at tents in the dessert, why don't they do it the old fashioned way, and save the tax payers some money, and in the process make a lot of soldiers happy by letting them do their jobs, and so send in the army, the special forces, SAS, SBS the elite Royal Marine's, the Paratroop Regiments and others, and kick some serious ass in Yemen by shooting the bad guys, and use the million pound missiles to fire at Iran.

What is the point of joining the British Army and being trained to be the most effective fighting force in the world, if you can't go out and kick some serious ass, by puttng your skills to good use, by giving the baddies of this world a really bad day

Let them use the million pound missiles and keep our wo/men out of this conflict. We don't need our service wo/men killed or wounded in yet another conflict..On the high seas I am sure our navy can deal with the pirates who are attacking shipping.

They probably are already doing stuff like you say Tommy tee, they don't tell us everything they do, They just drop troops in . observe and work in secret, Wherever there is conflict , the British army is watching and ready to pounce if need be,

Ritchy sends his apologies.

He misheard.

He thought uncle Sam had asked for help with 'A TAX ON SHIPPING'

and as you know, he is not able to overcome the reflex of grabbing any dosh that opportunity presents.

"Why is it always the USA and the U.K. Where are the other NATO countries???"

I suppose it is not really an attack on NATO the Houthi's are attacking all the world's shipping, but it is a good point, where are all the other countries military, NATO and none NATO countries, but they have said that Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, helped in the attack on the Houthi's

Well yes I agree, but in this case what would be the danger to our forces in shooting the terrorists in the desert using soldiers, attacking a city or a military base would be a different matter, that is where you need to use smart bombs and missiles.

I agree, but Iran does wants a war with the west, so what can you do ?

Tomplum

"They probably are already doing stuff like you say Tommy tee,"

Well hopefully the SAS are already in the desert shooting the bad guys

Your seem to think few special soldiers will make a difference. It took over
150 thousand troops to invade Iraq. Your way off the mark if you think a few soldiers in the desert will make a differance

They sent a lot of troops to invade Iraq, but they weren't needed because the Iraqi army ran away, the trouble came afterwards, because the Americans had not planned what to do with Iraq after they got rid of Sadaam, and they were warned that a power vacuum would be created and that the Sunnis and Shia's would start fighting, and insurgents from Iran would be encouraging it, and attacking American and British forces.

In Yemens case, the British army could overrun Yemen, with one arm tied behind their back

We're doing a better job policing the Red Sea than we are the English Channel.
